About Ben
Ben Zipkin is a principal and director of RDVO. He oversees strategic and research initiatives—working with clients to develop interactive media solutions for all types of business challenges. Ben is a seasoned business strategist, information architect, researcher, digital marketer, and design specialist with over twelve years of experience delivering results for leading clients around the globe.
Ben has been instrumental in growing RDVO from a loose collection of freelancers to one of the top user experience firms in the Northeast with an impressive roster of clients that includes Microsoft, Kodak, Monster.com, Abbott Laboratories, Procter & Gamble, Fidelity Investments, Polaroid, and Genzyme.
His work at RDVO has resulted in more than a dozen significant industry awards including two Webby Awards, eight MITX awards (including Best of Show), and recognition from Communication Arts and I.D. Magazine. Ben also serves as an advisor to several venture capital firms, marketing agencies, and early-stage technology companies.
Ben was featured in Computerworld Magazine as a “Top-100 Innovator” for his work on the Arthur D. Little Extranet System. He was part of the team that captured Hatch Awards for the Kraft Interactive Kitchen and the L.L. Bean ecommerce site.
Prior to founding RDVO, he held management positions at global corporations including Arthur D. Little, Digitas, and Renaissance Worldwide where he oversaw major initiatives for IBM, Intel, Kraft Foods, CMGi, the US Postal Service, and LL Bean.
Ben attended the University of New Hampshire and completed graduate coursework at Cambridge University, UK in the fields of advanced communications and statistics. He is a member of MITX, The Usability Professionals Association, the Information Architecture Institute, SEMPO, and the Meet the Makers Collaborative.
